We, the undersigned, call on the New Jersey Division of Investment to let New Jersey’s current holdings in Israel Bonds expire and not reinvest in Israeli Bonds until Israel stops violating international law. Instead, we want this money to be redirected to investments that strengthen our infrastructure, enhance our communities, and create good-paying union jobs while guaranteeing a reasonable rate of return.
This campaign is being initiated by American Muslims for Palestine-NJ, Ceasefire Now-NJ, Council on American-Islamic Relations-NJ, Jewish Voice for Peace North NJ and Central NJ, NJ Peace Action, and the Palestinian American Community Center.
Israel Bonds are unrestricted loans that go directly into the Israeli government’s treasury and war chest with no guardrails. This money represents a significant portion of Israel’s foreign debt, meaning that Israel Bonds provide critical financial support for Israel’s apartheid system, the forced displacement of Palestinians, and illegal settlement construction. These funds continue to fuel the Israeli military’s ongoing campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.
